The final piece of the 2010 Sauternes jigsaw is released today – Chateau d’Yquem! I must say I like the style of the 2010 and it’s similarities with the sensational 1988.
The price, for d’Yquem, is reasonable too – I am delighted that they appear to have followed the lead of the other Sauternais by reducing their price (by some 22%) rather than following the 1st growth red wines which they have done in the past. As predicted here and elsewhere it looks like Yquem is set to become the next big thing in China so this might be a good opportunity to secure a first class example of the very best Sauternes can offer at at this price level.
If you are interested in part cases of 2010 Chateau d’Yquem (e.g. 6 Bottles or even 6 Half Bottles) do email us and we will quote. Enjoy! Bill Blatch
