Chateau Coutet 2000 – Barsac
Chateau Coutet 2000 – First Growth Barsac
2000: Almost all from the very first September picking of fragrant freshly-botrytised grapes (after which it didn’t stop raining), this is an extremely fresh-styled Coutet, a château that always makes a lively wine anyway.
Nicely but not overly sweet, it has a pleasant minty quality (from the oak? From the freshness of grapes?) that gives further tone and balance. Drink it with the strawberries on the lawn.
