Great Drinking Sauternes!

Friday, September 10th, 2010

Well here it is – our first offer of drinking Sauternes!  We’ve scoured the cellars of Bordeaux to find the very best value wines and have come up with some truly great Sauternes.

All except one of these wines are cheaper per bottle than buying the recent 2009 vintage (some are only one third of the price) – and you don’t have to wait ten years to see them at their best!  The 2009 Sauternes may well turn out to be the best ever vintage but these wines represent the very best value Sauternes that you can drink today.  We’re delighted to make this offer of

Best Buy Sauternes For Drinking Now

Even better, you can buy your Sauternes either by the whole case or have fun mixing your own bespoke selection!

Why not slip in a half bottle or two of d’Yquem alongside some great value de Myrat and La Tour Blanche?  The de Myrat is cheaper than most own label supermarket Sauternes and, quite frankly, is three times the wine!

All the Sauternes have been perfectly stored in Bordeaux cellars and will be shipped to the UK for delivery in late October in plenty of time for Christmas (if they last you that long!)

Some of these wines are simply not available anywhere else in the UK so don’t miss this opportunity to grab them while you can.

We hope you enjoy this offer and these sensational Sauternes.  Bill Blatch

James Suckling has published his tasting notes and scores for the 2009 Sauternes and Barsac wines at www.winespectator.com   Broadly we agree that this is a fantastic vintage and special congratulations to Chateau d’Yquem (97-100), Coutet, Guiraud, l’Extravagant de Doisy Daene (95-98), de Myrat, Suduiraut (94-97) and Clos Haut-Peyraguey (93-96).

Why not compare them to my notes and to our videos on these wines – just use the name and email sign up boxes and the tag cloud (both in the right hand column of the blog) to locate vidoe reports on the wines you are interested in!  Bill Blatch
