2010 Sauternes – Chateau Bastor-Lamontagne Update

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

As proof that the harvest is almost over in Sauternes here are some more photos from Michel Garat and Alain Pivonet at Chateau Bastor-Lamontagne showing the end of our much followed single bunch of grapes. This is a fantastic series of photos and illustrates perfectly how much patience is required to make good Sauternes.  Bill Blatch

2009 Sauternes tasting – unclassified wines

Monday, March 29th, 2010

Here it is – the first look at the 2009 Sauternes and Barsac wines compared alongside each other! Everyone is currently twittering about this vintage so we thought we’d give you something more tangible than a tweet – a first hand look. Amongst these lesser wines Cantegril, La Clotte-Cazalis, Latrezotte, Liot and Domaine de l’Alliance shone.

Other Chateaux in this flight of wines are Bastor-Lamontagne, de Veyres, Lamourette, Les Justices, Partarrieu and Tuyttens. Bill Blatch
