2009 Sauternes – Domaine de l’Alliance

To round up our barrel tastings of Sauternes and Barsac wines we have the almost unknown 2009 Domaine de l’Alliance. Made by the passionate Daniel and Valerie Alibrand from small parcels of old vines dotted around Fargues the philosophy behind this wine is an ecologically friendly one – an alliance between man and nature. Certainly the wine is made the the very best standards and is one to watch out for in 2009.

Our job now is to taste all of the wines we have tased from the barrel alongside each other as blends. This will be our first opportunity to compare the Châteaux and we will report back here from the weekend. Bill Blatch
