2009 Sauternes – Château La Clotte-Cazalis (with 2008 and 2007 as well)

A small verticle tasting of the little known Château La Clotte-Cazalis from Barsac with winemaker and oenologist Marie-Pierre Lacoste. The old vines at this property help give the wine its complex character which really shows through in these three vintages.

That’s it for Barsac barrel tastings – apologies to the châteaux we didn’t get round to filming including Broustet, Caillou, Doisy-Dubroca, de Myrat and Suau. Next up some stunning Sauternes wines including Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Domaine de l’Alliance, Guiraud, Rabaud-Promis, de Rayne-Vigneau, Rieussec and Sigalas-Rabaud. Bill Blatch
